Fine gravel 2-3mm size is excellent as bottom gravel to prevent soil flowing to the bottom of the terrarium pot after watering. Hence, sometime dry sphagnum moss is not necessary to be in between the charcoal and soil.
Fine gravel also can be used as part of the colorful theme at the bottom wall of the pot or create a pond or sea view on top of the soil. The paintings are water proof and safe for plant.
